When working in a global role I and a lady from US were the only women out of a team of 62. Needless to say this was a very male dominated working environment!

I was speaking with my Human resources director about this and he gave me a great tip which was to read a book "Why Men Don't Listen and Women Can't Read Maps". My HR Director said that it can really help you as it gives you insights into the differences in thinking and communication when you interact with men versus women. OK I thought, I will give it a read. Nothing ventured, nothing gained....

Oh boy, this book made me smile, laugh hysterically and really provided a great education for me to develop my communication skills. The books are written by Allan and Barbara Pease, internationally renowned experts in human relations and body language. There are additional books - they are all a great read, funny and well worth a read!
